The Foreshore Scenic Protection Area (FSPA) is still under threat from Georges River Council, Members were asked to oppose these changes. Submissions closed on 31st March 2023.

The Foreshore Scenic Protection Area (FSPA) is still under threat from Georges River Council, just two years ago after the communities of Oatley West, Mortdale, Peakhurst, Peakhurst Heights and Lugarno soundly rejected Georges River Council’s (GRC) attempt to drastically reduce its area in the Georges River Local Environmental Plan (LEP).

Revised proposals in a Biodiversity Study and a Foreshore Scenic Character Study (FSCS) were put up for public consultation. Submissions closed on Friday 31st March. See: Help us implement the Biodiversity & Foreshore Studies | Your Say Georges River (nsw.gov.au)

OFF prepared 2 guides to help members make a submission to express their opposition to the reduction of the FSPA. They can still be downloaded here and here.
