We had a very good attendance at our last talk on Costa Rica, which, as explained by speaker Graham Fry, means rich coast, not in financial terms but in scenery and wildlife. We followed Graham and his partner Liz on their journey around the country, while he highlighted the different landscapes, lush vegetation and wildlife, principally birds. The audience was wowed by the huge variety of these colourful birds with their magnificent plumage. Following the meeting the audience stayed for a great social supper.

OFF Member Graham Fry spent two weeks in Costa Rica in Central America last October on a guided tour that focused on birds and other wildlife. Costa Rica has a rich biodiversity and a commendable record of protecting it.
Graham’s talk will include a brief introduction to the country of Costa Rica, and illustrate some of the fascinating creatures he saw there. They included bats that make tents, birds that swallow avocados, snakes with eyelashes, and frogs in ‘blue jeans’.
Following the meeting, there will be a social supper. Members are asked to bring a plate.
This meeting will be held in the Oatley Uniting Church Hall at 7.30pm and on-line by ZOOM. The ZOOM link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3742141020?omn=86110187560 or open ZOOM & enter meeting ID: 374 214 1020.
