A rainforest walk through the Forest Path track in the Royal National Park, at the Waterfall end of Lady Carrington Drive. It was a short, relatively easy, 5 km circular walk along the Port Hacking River and Bola creek, through cabbage tree palms, turpentine and a few red cedars. 19 walkers attended, stopping beside Bola Creek for morning tea before returning to their vehicles via Lady Carrington Drive. The recent rains meant we had to be wary of leeches. However the highlight of the day was a clear view of a lyrebird strolling along a fallen log. It was a shame to discover, what appeared to be coal waste in the Hacking River from the Peabody Mine.
